TUNING Having a car correctly tuned will contribute to substantial fuel saving. Not only do you save fuel but your engine will run smoother and be for more responsive. The MVRIA advise that with the number of electronic computer management systems in modern cars, it is essential that only lincensed repairers with appropriate electronic test and tune equipment work on them, otherwise thousands of dollars worth of damage can be done to onboard computers. By having your car tuned at Gossies your vehicle will perform at it's peak. With the use of our 'Dyno Dynamics' Dynamometer (Dyno for short) we make checks and adjustments live, under simulated driving conditions e.g. driving uphill and cruising at various speeds and loads. The benefit from dyno tuning is maximum performance available while engine efficiency and economy is at it's best. We do tuning for
The Boring stuff just in case you are wondering Dyno is the shortened word for dynamometer which is an instrument to measure energy expended. The measurement is known as "Horse Power" or "Kilowatts". This horse-power-measuring device can take on two forms. Probably the most common type of dynamometer is the one which measures the power at the rear wheels. This is known as a chassis or rolling road dyno. The other type, most often used for pure engine development work, is the engine dynamometer. It measures power directly off the power plant. So if you would just like a horse power reading for your vehicle we can do that for you too. |
